How to Make the Illusion Bracelet

Illusion Rainbow Loom Bracelet

The Illusion Rainbow Loom bracelet is a twist on another one of our Aunt Susan’s designs (we’ll be posting her original design soon!)

We call it the Illusion bracelet because the bands in the centre (we used our glitter bands) look like beads. You can purchase the glitter bands here.

If you can make a Fishtail bracelet, you won’t have any trouble with this design. In fact, we think it’s a perfect bracelet for beginners!

Wow, I thought those where beads at first!!!! How do you do that– I mean, I’m not a beginner at RL, but I like this one! It looks like a fishtail, but with those bands in the middle–can you tell me how to make it here????? Please!! 🙂

  2. GB Shakespeare says:

Oh my gosh, tell your Aunt Susan to post something on here! She is a GENIUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please tell her she is the best RL designer ever.

  3. Zoey says:

That is so cute and adorable! 🙂 Can you tell me where you got the sparkly rubber bands? I got the Shimmer ‘N Sparkle kit so they didn’t give it to me.

  4. Ms. Kathy says:

Wow you have an awesome aunt! Can you make a tutorial or figure out any way to make a meerkat charm? My cousins bday is soon, and she is obsessed with rl and meerkats. Although they are cute…

  6. Abc says:

    I made one and it looks really pretty 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
It’s pretty easy but it’s very repetitive.

    😀

I really like the design on the bracelet but I thought the video was really bad and I have the rainbow loom that was made by crazy-z-art so it can’t do most of those things I would really like it if you guys would get a better video than that

    • Emily A says:

If you didn’t already see, it says Illusion Rainbow Loom Bracelet. The video is made for Rainbow loom, but I’m sure it’s not that hard to do an Illusion bracelet on your crazy-z-art loom. 🙂

  8. Kathryn says:

I can see why its called Illusion. My friend made a Illusion bracelet and it looks like beads! But its just rubber bands

    • Emily says:

I have the Wonder Loom from Walmart. When I tried this I just used the end that has the two pegs in a line and one slightly up. I used the end two pegs and ignored the rest of the loom.

  9. Angela says:

I really like the bracelet design! The video is good and I think I have followed the directions. In some spots, my center bands are sticking out and look kind of bumpy. Did this happen to anyone else? Any ideas on what I am doing wrong or what I can do to get it to look nice and smooth like the picture and video? Thank you!

    • BMO says:

Mine was kinda bumpy as well. I think that all you need to do is when you put the band in between the pings or whatever, the middle rubber band might have to be put together or something. That’s at least what I think… ;D

  21. cMeCutie says:

So cute, but I messed up a little. I don’t know why. I can even do inverted fishtail. Speaking of inverted RB bracelets can you do an inverted illusion bracelet?!,

  22. I have a question.. says:

I have been searching and searching for instructions on how to make a new style of Loom, I have only ever done the easy one! I am looking for a new, cool style that I can do that doesn’t use the pegthing! Please help!

    • suzy alamera says:

you can do the single and fishtail and inverted fishtail (which i call fishtail road) and there are lots of videos to show how to do really cool bracelets like the starburst using ur hands. P.S. u could use thumbtacks pinned to your wall instead…:)

  23. i am cooler then you! says:

i am making it now that is cool do you have more things that you can show me right now nice work woo! woo! woo!

    shay!

  24. liana says:

Can’t you just use your fingers for this one?? because some of us don’t have where you can take one row of pegs off. But anyway this is my favourite design of all time and your aunt is amazing!! thank you soo much!!

  25. Leo Valdez's #1 fangirl says:

  26. The cat with the golden miaow says:

  31. Aoife says:

I ? this bracelet I have made it and it is easier than it looks so I think this bracelet is AWESOME!!!

  32. #rl lover says:

Cool!! But it’s sad that i don’t have any of the glitter bands.. Will it look the same if i use normal bands instead of the glitter bands??

  33. Kate says:

Me and my sister worked out how you can make this bracelet on a hook, we’ve noticed that when we made this rabbit by elegantfashion360. This technique was used for the ears.

  34. Rebecca(becky) says:

I just made one with pink, purple and blue.it looks awesome!!I have made about 25 and I am going to sell them!!

  35. Isabela Flores says:

This is a very nice bracelet and it is EXTREMELY easy. I like mine with blue and pink (my favorite colours) glitter bands with a white border. Can you post more challenging bracelets where you actually use the WHOLE loom to make it? Thank you. I really like you guy’s site. You are always my first resort! I have been Rainbow Looming since age 8 ( second grade), and I am 11 (and in fifth grade). This is my hobby. Each Christmas I ask for new bands, and I get new bands. The other day I successfully made the kaleidoscope bracelet and I love the result. So thank you, and keep doing what you’re doing.
P.S How old are Maddie and Emily?
